Sarah and Steve decided to rent the most American car they could think of (a Chevy Camaro) and go on a musical road trip down the Mississippi to tie the knot at their destination, New Orleans. I met them in their hotel room and was immediately handed a glass of bourbon, which they bought along on their road trip.
I photographed Sarah and Steve while they lovingly helped each other get ready. Sarah wore a badass custom pink suit. They popped a bottle of Veuve Rosé and we took portraits all around the historic Henry Howard Hotel. Then, we headed to the delicately decaying and patinated Seraphim House just outside of the French Quarter. I laughed as they played rock, paper, scissors to see who got to reads their vow’s first. The game is now my new favorite way of settling things. After their sweet and intimate ceremony, they signed the marriage license (of which I was a signee) and had their first dance right at their ceremony spot. Afterwards, we walked through the French Quarter and took the long way to The Sazerac (inside the Roosevelt Hotel) by pit-stopping at the Longway Tavern. We had a blast, and they even insisted in sending me home with the bouquet. How could I say no?
